<----Dresden DollsI’m listening to Bullet for my Valentine, right now, my current favorite. I just bought their CD, “The Poison.” It’s excellent, highly recommend it. Matt Tuck has some seriously sweet lyrics if you can get past all the screaming. Personally, I love it. However, that might be just because I’m a teenager, overrun by the hormones. Who knows? I discovered this fabulous Welsh group using cables On Demand. I watched the video for the song “Tears Don’t Fall,” it made me sad, and then laugh my head off. So I sampled more of their music and videos on youtube. I really love them. After all, you can’t go wrong with the strong dual guitars.
Which reminds me of my first metal band, Avenged Sevenfold, they are awesome. They hold a dear place in my heart. I picked up their second CD “Waking the Fallen,” on a whim. I didn’t like the screaming at first, but it grew on me. I asked my uncle, (a complete metal-head) what he thought. He told me the drums were boring and repetitive. But I still loved them. I really like the guitar in most of the songs. Then I had to go and listen to “City of Evil”… Their sound changed so much, not better or worse, but different. I think I’ll buy it later… maybe.
Anyways, what else do I like? The Dresden Dolls!!! I discovered them a while ago when I was at a friends house and they were getting psyched up for their concert, (I’m still depressed over not going) and they were playing songs. My first love, “Girl Anachronism”. Amanda sure can sing fast… I can sing along to it now. :O I love her lyrics. They make me happy. I could listen to them forever. My favorite song is now “Bad Habit,” I suppose I might be able to relate to it. “When I open up an old scar/Pain goes shooting like a star” it’s so catchy. But, my daddy dumpling’s question was “Why would you listen to songs about self destruction?” Hee hee. My secret, Love. Besides, you wouldn't understand even if I told you. Again with the overpowering hormones.
